A seamless and easy to assemble stool
By making a screw mechanism I was able to ‘hide’ the connection. However I wanted to make the product as a flat packed product. I divided the screw in 3 parts and created the screw thread as 1/3 of a circle to make sure the screw thread is repetitive.
By 3d printing the prototype connection and creating a silicon mold of the prototype, I was able to quickly reproduce the connection parts and create 3 identical legs. The seat is the nut that connects the 3 legs together. The nut was casted directly into the wood. This product I created during a school assignment where we had to focus on creating a new or unique connection method.
