Office for Design
OfD, founded by Shane Schneck & Clara von Zweigbergk, is a Stockholm based design studio, that bridges the worlds of industrial design and brand identity. I interned at OfD for six months and worked on several projects for Hay, Nike, Menu, Ikea and Ommo. During these six months, I assisted Shane with developing concepts by creating models, CAD builds and presentations for the client.
I had a great experience with an international team in a buzzing and inspiring city. This helped me develop both personally and professionally.
SOFA FOR IKEA/HAY
OfD developed several products for the collaboration between HAY and IKEA. I was mostly involved with the design of the sofa and worked on this project from the first idea’s to creating scale fabric prototypes.
A range of fabric scale prototypes were made to find to right proportion and template for the sofa. The sofa was released in 2017 by IKEA in their YPPERLIG collection.
IDENTITY AND PRODUCT RANGE FOR OMMO
Ommo is a Hong Kong based kitchen and domestic accessories brand. OfD was asked to guide the brand’s identity and to start their first range of products. This resulted in a playful and accessible brand with a cake-stand, trivet, serving bowl and a selection of kitchen tools as their first range of products.
I helped developing the brands identity and to develop the salad set, basket and cake stand. By creating paper models, 3d prints and CAD builds we found the right proportions for the range.
TOOLBOX FOR HAY
For HAY, I worked on a toolbox that got its features through the use of cardboard and paper. The side pockets were made of paper towel rolls and playful paper colors reflect in the plastic end result. I was mostly involved in the first phases of the development and the team of OfD/Hay finalized the product.
The toolbox was released during Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2018 and is available in 2 colors.
ART DIRECTION FOR HAY
OfD is annually working on the art direction of the HAY catalogue. For the 2015 catalogue, I got the chance to assist during the shoot and to develop the art direction by creating graphics, set props and scale models.
During the shoot we worked together with Rasmus Norlander and the Hay team in Horsens, Denmark.
SEATING UNITS FOR NIKE
Ten designers and design studio’s interpret mobility for Nike at Salone del mobile Milan 2016, including OfD. We focused on creating seating units, that make the user more mobile and active. In this project I was involved in creating the concept, the first prototypes and physical and digital models.
